We believe that all pupils can be successful in an environment which is caring, optimistic and encouraging. Vita et Pax Preparatory School is a happy school which provides an atmosphere which supports pupils and enables their success, their development of character and well-being. Our pupils know that they are valued as individuals with unique needs, strengths and potential.
Our uniquely supportive environment ensures that, by the time they leave school, our children are eager to engage with the world around them whilst resisting the rush to judgement, sensitive to the needs and beliefs of others but with the courage of their own convictions too.
Our House system provides a supportive environment that encourages friendly competition, provides opportunities for students to assume responsibility and develop leadership abilities and one that enables students to make a positive contribution to the local community.
The promotion of well-being, care for each other and resilience lies at the core of our School. The pupils know they have a voice that is listened to by teachers and fellow pupils with initiatives such as the School Council, Public Speaking Scheme and House system in school life. Within these structures our pupils find their voice and develop leadership skills that will last a lifetime.
Through the work of our Mental Health Leads, pupils are given regular opportunities to discuss their mental health and wellbeing. Both 1-1 and group sessions are offered to allow children to express their current thoughts, feelings and worries as and when these arise. Our trained members of staff use their expertise to guide pupils to enhance their mental wellbeing, providing a safe space for open discussion without judgement.
