Strengthening Our Community: A Visit from Fr Pascal at Vita et Pax Prep School
This week, we were delighted to welcome Fr Pascal from Christ the King Church in Cockfosters to our school. His visit provided an inspiring opportunity for us to reflect on the ways our school and the church can work together to better support each other and the wider community. It was a meeting filled with promise and enthusiasm for the future of our collaborative efforts.
During our discussion, we explored a variety of initiatives aimed at strengthening the bond between the school and the church. One key focus was how both institutions could work in unison to make a tangible, positive impact on local groups and families. Fr Pascal shared his thoughts on how the church can continue to offer spiritual guidance, support, and a welcoming space for families, while we brainstormed ideas on how the school could contribute to these efforts through more active engagement with the parish.
As part of this exciting partnership, we are thrilled to announce the upcoming Welcome Mass scheduled for next week. This special event will mark the official start of the academic year and provide an opportunity for students, teachers, and parishioners to come together in prayer and fellowship. We hope this gathering will set a positive and spiritual tone for the months ahead, bringing our community closer in shared values of faith, hope, and service.
Our Year 6 students were particularly engaged during the meeting and had some wonderful ideas on how we could actively support the church in its mission. They suggested visiting different groups within the parish, such as the nursery playgroup and the B2 Club, which caters to the elderly members of the community. These intergenerational connections are a powerful way to foster a sense of belonging, unity, and joy across the ages, benefiting both young and old alike.
We are excited about the future of this partnership with Fr Pascal and Christ the King Church. Together, we can continue to serve and uplift our local community, building on our shared commitment to faith, love, and service.
