Year 6 Enjoys Skiing Adventure at The Snow Centre, Hemel Hempstead
Pupils from Year 6 at Vita et Pax Preparatory School in Enfield recently embarked on an exciting adventure to The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, an experience made possible by the money they earned during their highly successful Enterprise Week. The day was filled with laughter, excitement, and the thrill of trying something new—skiing!
For many students, this was their very first attempt at skiing, and despite a few wobbles and spills, all of them did fantastically well. The adventure began with the most amusing part of the day: putting on the ski boots. Some students struggled to get them on, with plenty of giggles and playful banter as they tried to adjust to the heavy, rigid footwear. But once everyone was suited up and ready, the students could hardly wait to take to the slopes.
Under the expert guidance of qualified instructors, the Year 6 pupils were introduced to the fundamentals of skiing. They began by learning the essential skills for balancing, turning, and controlling their speed—skills they would soon take to the snow with increasing confidence. The sight of so many children laughing, helping each other, and cheering each other on was truly heartwarming. Many students were amazed at how quickly they improved, and their sense of achievement grew with every successful glide down the slope.
