Happy Chinese New Year!
In the Early Years, we have been celebrating Chinese New Year! The children have learnt about the Chinese zodiac and how this year is the year of the tiger. The children have also been exploring the different ways Chinese New Year is celebrated.
They have been creating lucky red envelopes to fill with money, rolling dough dumplings and designing their own lanterns. The children also learnt how to count and write the numerals to ten in Chinese. In PE, the children choreographed their own dragon dance.
Throughout the week the children have been observing how Chinatown in London has been preparing for the festivities and they are all eager to visit!
